Hi! I’m currently working as a postdoc at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) in the Mitri group, having previously done stints at the universities of Sheffield (postdoc), Oxford (DPhil) and Cambridge (BA and MSci).
In my current work, I am trying to pick apart the role of metabolic interactions between microbial species in the shaping of community spatial structure. Previously, I mainly worked on active matter physics, in particular using the twitching bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa to understand the connection between single-cell and collective-scale motion in microbes.
Technically, my work combines quantitative biology techniques (including a strong focus on image analysis) with physically-grounded models to gain a unified understanding of microbial ecology and evolution.
A side note – this website is dedicated to my scientific research. If you’ve come here by mistake and are wondering what the hell I’m yapping about – but still enjoy a decent story or the like – check out my other site, Marginal Scrawlings.
